GTM re-start & First-time body art

Weeknote #57 (1 - 7 June 2026)

June 7, 2026

Sometimes my cautionary style stops me getting on with things.
A colleague and I stepped up on a client project that needed more governance and 'oomph'. I re-worked the strategy and between us we proposed an alternative GTM approach, along with some quick planning (dependency mapping). Wrapped it all up with a narrative, and it was very well received.

This client work made me also think about my own marketing and so I've made some inroads on that, too.

My son's car failed it's MoT on Thursday, which means that I am in 'taxi driver' mode until next week, when he can get it fixed. Fortunately, I don't have to get him to and from work for his night shifts.

As a consequence of the above, I spent 3 hours at a tattoo parlour on Friday whilst son got his first tattoo. I thought he was being a little 'gung-ho' by going large(ish) for his first, but it all went very well with no problems. He's already planning tattoos 2 & 3.

The time in the parlour gave me the opportunity to work on some creative stuff, which I've been neglecting recently. Made some good progress on a couple of poems for the new book.

A day trip to Tintern on Saturday to meet up with my best friend who is holidaying there for a week. The weather held out. Despite being cloudy and overcast, the sun managed to shine through whilet we were on a walk with the dogs.

I must get out more. (I keep saying this, but never do.)

I spent relatively little time in front of a TV this week, but did watch:

  • "This is not a Murder Mystery". A great little series. Murders, artists, surrealism, humour. What's not to like?
