In contrast to last weekend's 3-day, 500+ mile road trip around the south of England and Wales, this weekend has been a little more close to home. And with better weather.
Last weekend was an overnight in Brighton, via Christchurch. With a birthday party on the Sunday afternoon.

An afternoon in Swansea on Monday was fun and tiring. Catching up with people I haven't seen for years like it was only yesterday. Interesting conversations and (as usual) I didn't overlook the opportunity to draw all over a whiteboard.
Tuesday was mostly spent catching up on things and planning the week. Lots to be getting on with. There was some time for some writing in the afternoon.
Wednesday was more writing. Outlined 2 new posts and published a third. Spent some time working on the 'Subject Management System' that I want to experiment with; me + Notion + Claude working in (near) perfect harmony.
Thursday was clients. Wrote an executive brief and reviewed a new version of an investment deck. Things are moving! Also did some lead generation activities, with a view to doing some outreach next week.
Friday - more client work in the morning - an exception to the rule that I keep Fridays to myself as much as I can. 'Big shop' in the afternoon. Some creative work. And general end-of-week tidying up & prep for next week. (Trying to not have things weighing on my mind over the weekend.)
Yesterday (Saturday) a sunny family outing to Stanton Drew for a day-after-the-equinox visit to the standing stones. And the obligatory pint or two in The Druid's Arms. (Guinness 0.0 for me.)
Here's the published writing, if you care to take a look:
- Strategy and the Shape of a Startup
- In The Ode Map, a behind-the-scenes look at the structure (or lack of) of one my poems Poem: Beyond the Sea
I watched:
- "The Fall Guy" (the film). Can't believe that I've not watched this before now. It was not bad.
- "The Walsh Sisters", based on Marian Keyes' "Walsh Family" book series. I haven't read the books so can't say whether or not you'll be disappointed.
- "The Other Bennet Sister" - loved this series.
- "Ellis", series 2 episodes 1&2. I have been waiting for this Channel 5 series to return - I even had a reminder in my calendar for it. Very good so far.
My listening highlights this week:
- Haute & Freddy "Big Disgrace" album. Yes, again. I *really* like it.
- Neon Fields "Neon Fields" album. Trippy.
- Balearic Sabbath "War Pigs" single. Sometimes, you gotta chill.
- YONAKA "Until You're Satisfied" album. Brighton-based alternative rock.
