New automations & Health frustration

Weeknote #49 (6 - 12 April 2026)

April 12, 2026

This darn cold is not showing much evidence of passing. The Easter weekend was a washout, but at least I was starting to feel better by Tuesday. However, it persists. Brain is not able to think very deeply about stuff, so I've had to get by on clearing backlog items that are low-energy and require little-to-no thought.

I managed to get an Ode Map post out - "Why Your Brain Loves Physical Books".
But nothing work-related. I had a draft but not enough energy to get it over the line.

I did, at least, manage to do some more n8n automation, which has taken another manual process off my plate. It's part of a multi-task workflow that I'm building out, slowly, piece by piece.

I also put some time into creating some new views in AirTable to support the n8n stuff. These also feed a dashboard (in AirTable) that allows me to see the state of everything flowing through the process.
Or at least it will do, once all the steps that can be automated are in n8n. Some stuff will be 'human in the loop', because, well, it needs to be. The plan is to minimise the amount of 'human' that's required.

My watching this week is too embarrassing to list. Here it is:

  • "The Marlow Murder Club" Series 3. No thinking required. Perfect.
  • "McDonald & Dodds". Have watched before, but it was just about the level I could cope with.

My listening highlights this week:

  • SOPHIE "Oil of Every Pearl's Un-Insides" album.
  • Tchotchke "Playin' Dumb" album.
