Another week that seems to have finished before it started. I'm sitting here at my computer and can't for the life of me think of what I've done. However, I'm sure my notes will help me find something to write about...
On the work adjacent side of things:
- I had another minor panic attack about all of the things that I want to do and the anxiety and overwhelm of how on earth I'm going to fit it all in. I decided to do a brain dump, gathering all the notes from various places and create a mini now/next Kanban. It's not going to replace the more structured system where I look after my ideas and process and progress them. But it gives me a simple view of what is immediately important and what I should be concentrating on. The 'Tickle' section is where ongoing activities or 'thought' or whatever sit. When I get tired (or bored) of working on something in the top section, I have those to fall back on and give me variety and save my brain from exploding. This is all on my whiteboard in front of me, using magnetic wipeable note cards.

- I linked Claude up to Notion. That seems to be working quite well.
- I also linked Claude up to Canva. The results so far are disappointing.
- Generalist World Slack is buzzing with new members. It's been interesting to see the variety and diversity - not unexpected given the community. Looking forward to welcoming more people over the next few weeks.
On the writing front:
- I published my 50th article for the Ode Map "Poem: Today / Tomorrow"
- I wrote an article on the shape of organisations, which will be published later this week.
- Last week's article 'Opportunity Cost in Systems', about consequences of localised optimisation, went live.
I watched absolutely nothing worth mentioning, apart from:
- "Emily" on BBC iPlayer. The story is (mostly) made up, but the music was good.
All week I've had a desire to watch "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid". I'll definitely have to try and watch it this week.
There's been a flurry of new album (or part-album) releases recently, so I've been playing catch-up. I listened to:
- Charli xcx "Wuthering Heights" album.
- Rosalía "LUX" album.
- TOMORA "Come closer" album. 'TOMORA' is Aurora and Tom Rowlands (Chemical Brothers).
- Jewelia "This is how it feels" single. A lot more shouty than previous fare.
- Haute & Freddy "Big Disgrace" album. Two brilliant songwriters (wikimedia), working together on this joint project/concept. So far, the album is just the singles, with the remainder coming on 13th March. You'll either love them or hate them. I can't get enough of them.
