AI choices and Nostalgic voices

Weeknote #41 (9 - 15 February 2026)

February 17, 2026

I've been doing more work on implementing the outputs from COOPilots’ ”AI for Ops” course. Specifically, I've been thinking about how to turn my business filing system into something that AI can lean on to support my business operations.

I started off just using ChatGPT but decided that OpenAI Codex might be a better solution, giving it access to the relevant files directly, with the disadvantage of having no UI. It's all command line.

But now, of course, Claude Copilot has been released, which also does exactly the same as what I was now doing with Codex. So I have a bit of a dilemma: Do I go all in on Claude Copilot, which currently is early days; or continue down the route of using the Codex? Is there a way that I can get them both working across the same set of files at the same time without overburdening me with the management of that, at least in the short term?

Stay tuned for next week's episode.

On the writing front I published:

Viewing highlights:

  • “Small Prophets” (BBC). Only watched the first three episodes so far, but it is amazing. I see that it’s being praised a lot on social media, too.
  • “Patience” (Channel 4). Series 2. Very good. I think I mentioned when I watched Series 1 that I prefered the original (“Astrid: Murder in Paris”) and, whilst that’s still true, I think Series 2 of Patience is good in it’s own right. It looks to be slightly diverging, now, from the original’s underlying story arc, which is, I think, a good move.

Listening highlights:

  • M.I.A. - “Maya” album.
  • Labrinth - “Cosmic Opera Act I” album. A bit different, but good.
  • Banco de Gaia - “Rewritten Histories, Vol. 2.5: 1992 - 2003” album. Some excellent remixes & reimaginings of Toby's works, here.
