Lunar housing and no Carousing

Weeknote #34 (22 - 28 December 2025)

December 28, 2025

Well. Christmas week. What fun. Not much to say, really.

I wrote a reflective piece about High Affective Empathy.

Spend Christmas Day at a friend’s house, which is now, officially, a tradition. Excellent food, nice walk in the park, game of Cluedo.

A trip to see my daughter and family. Loud and hectic and brilliant.

On the reading front:

  • Started reading Sound Tracks, which was a Christmas present from my son. So far, very good.
  • Read / reviewed the first draft copy of a friend’s two-act whodunnit. Also very good.

I watched lots of stuff - the usual mix of Christmas specials and nostalgia. Of interest elsewhere:

  • Hello Tomorrow!”: retro-futurism. Interesting story about selling timeshares on the moon. Only 3 episodes in - will continue, for sure
  • Roar”: Watched the first couple of episodes. More cerebral/though-provoking than entertaining. Will continue.

Didin’t find much time for / wasn’t in the mood for music. When I did listen, it was to set or reflect a mood:

  • Cosey Fanni Tutti - “2t2” album
  • Yndling - “Time, Time, Time” album
