Work variety & Big shop anxiety

Weeknote #31 (1 - 7 December 2025)

· Weeknote

What with it being almost Christmas, and all, work-ish activities are winding down and I’m spending more time on pet projects and planning 2026. It'll be good to spend more time on creative writing and music.

Had a great meeting with a potential client. Looking to have a second meeting before Christmas.

Attended an online AI for Operations workshop that was really good. A good portion of it mirrored what I already do, but I learned some new stuff and got some great insight. More of this anon, I think.

I wrote one poem, and drafted and edited the 24 advent calendar posts for The Ode Map.

Started drafting a personal reflection on Christmas.

I thought about magnetic poetry kits. And Miley Cyrus. (But not at the same time.)

I did a 'big shop'. It wasn't as chaotic and frantic as I had been imagining.

This week I watched:

  • 'Star Trek Strange New Worlds' S1E2
  • Got up-to-date on ‘Down Cemetery Road’, ‘Pluribus’, ‘Loot’
  • The first two episodes of ‘The War Between the Land and the Sea’. (Interesting, holding judgement for now.)
  • ‘Talamasca’ S1S1-2. Nope. Not for me.

And I listened to:

  • Klaendestine - “We Shall Share” EP
  • Attrition - “Keepsakes and Reflections” Album
  • Cosey Fanni Tutti - “2t2”
  • SHEL - “Just Crazy Enough” Album
  • Ely Eira - “Legend of Ely” Album
  • M.I.A. - “Kala” Album

Finally, November’s listening figures are in. I tried to listen to new stuff and not repeat listening to the same thing too much. Let’s say that I succeeded, in part.
