In what felt like a week that dragged somewhat, I got some stuff done.
That said, it wasn’t a good week for my mental health. I am going through a period of ‘funk’ that I would rather not have to contend with. So I’ve been trying to push through (for the most part, successfully) and think of the great things in the pipeline - personally and professionally.
On the creative writing side:
- I published a poem-in-progress piece over on The Ode Map - “PIP: Stress - a three act play”
- I created a handy PDF reference on the back of a post I wrote last week - “6 Playful ways to Unstick your Creativity”
On the work-ish side:
- Had a re-think about how to begin my talk next week, and did some shuffling of the talk in Scrivener. I also need to buy some props.
- Got a lead for a potential role supporting an Entrepreneur’s latest business, which would be very interesting. I’m very excited about it, but have to put it to the back of my mind for now so as to concentrate on more pressing matters. We’ll be picking this up in November.
- GovCamp Cymru is getting closer and closer, so I’m spending more time on that - trying to make sure we have everything in place, and that all sponsors, volunteers and attendees are appropriately prepped and ready for 7th November.
I watched “The Woman in Cabin 10”. I quite liked it. I haven’t read the book but I understand that the film strays from the book towards the end. Some good performances from Kiera Knightley and David Ajala, and an almost not quite hammy outing for Guy Pearce.
My listening has been quite singular, for the most part, with a couple of exceptions:
- Stealing Sheep - “GLO” & “U F33L M3 - EP” (again, and repeatedly)
- Kissing the Pink - “Naked” (released 1st January, 1983) I fancied a trip down memory lane. I blame the aforementioned ‘funk’. "The Last Film" is a spectacular song & brings back so many memories. Here they are on TOTP [YouTube]
- Ely Eira - “Legend of Ely”
